Beginning Knitting

Monday: March 1 from 10:30am-12:30pm

Skill Level: This is for first-time knitters
Instructor: Melinda Keba

Cost: $40; supplies are purchased separately
Description: Learn how to cast-on, knit, purl and bind-off. Participants will learn all they need to know to make someone special (such as themselves) a scarf.

 
 
Child’s Polar Bear Hat
Tuesdays:  March 2 and 9 from 12-2

Knitting in the Round - Your First Hat

Monday: March 8 from 10:30am-1:30pm

Description: Have you knit a ton of scarves and are ready learn something different? This is the class for you! In this class you will learn how to knit in the round, increase and decrease while making a darling baby apple hat. What a great gift for the newborn in your family!

 
Red Fern Vest

Tuesdays:  March 9, 16, and 30 from 2:30-4:30 pm

Skill level:  Must know how to knit and purl & have done some basic cables.

Instructor:  Janet Larson

Cost: $50

Description:  If you have done some basic cables this lovely vest is a nice next step for you.  You will learn to use the cable technique to make ferns climb up the length of a vest by following a chart. You will also learn finishing techniques for a cardigan vest and grafting (Kitchner stitch).

 
Vine and Leaf Beret

Tuesdays:  March 16 and 23 from 12-2 pm

Skill level:  Must know how to knit and purl

Description:  This lovely beret is a good introduction to lace knitting.  You will learn to knit in the round and follow a chart.

 
Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving

Saturdays:  March 6 from 10am-4pm AND March 20 from 10am-Noon

Skill level:  First time weaver

Instructor:  Dani Hinkley

Description:  Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave? Then this is the class for you! You will learn the basics of weaving while making a lovely table runner!

Wednesday Night Skill Building
January through April 2010
Starting January 6th our Skill Building Class will be knitting the "Tweed Hoodie" from Melissa Leapmans book Continuous Cables. (sweater is featured on the cover below) De-Li-Cious! We will be using Takhi Donegal Tweed. The finished bust sizes and number of skeins are as follows: For Finished Bust of 35.5, 38, 42, 46, 50 you'll need: 7, 8, 8, 9, 9 skeins. (Each skein is $15.65)  Note: This class is for experienced knitters.
When: Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Juniper Fiberworks
Skill Level: Different for each class
